    Early childhood (0-6 yrs) is a time of remarkable brain development. It is the critical period that determine a person’s ability to reach her/his lifelong health, social and economic potential. Providing quality early childhood intervention early in a child’s life supports them to develop the skills needed to enable him to lead an independent and dignified life. Early Intervention provides specialized support and services for infants and young children at – risk or with disability and/or development delay and their families to help their development, well-being and participation in family and community life. The aim is to provide a cross-disability, composite multi-functional facility for therapeutic interventions to help reduce the disability burden and also counsel the parents under one roof. It is also to prepare the children for school readiness which is crucial for inclusive education.

    CDEIC (Cross Disability Early Intervention Centre) provide services to children under 0-6 years of age who are at risk of developmental delay in terms of physical,  cognitive,  communication,  adaptive skills and social- emotional development.

    Clinical psychology :

    Clinical psychologist provides assessment,  diagnosis and counseling services to the parents and children for various treatment process based on the child’s condition.

     

    Early Intervention

    Aim-The aim is to provide a cross-disability, composite multi-functional facility for therapeutic interventions to help reduce the disability burden and also counsel the parents under one roof.

    Physiotherapy/Occupational therapy

    Physiotherapy/Occupational therapy in CD- EIC provide services to infants and toddlers from 0-6years to develop, maintain and restore maximum gross motor skills, movement,functional abilities, balance & coordination, activities of daily living and preventing secondary disabilities that can arise from primary condition, when normal development, movement and function are threatened by disorder, conditions, injury or environmental factors.

    Special Education

    Aim- A Special Educator help cwsns achieve important learning milestones by using various teaching methods, tailored to the specific needs of each cwsn. Special Educators ultimately aim at making the child an independent learner.

    Speech and Hearing

    The Speech and Hearing Unit at CRCSRE (CDEIC GUWAHATI) specializes in assessing, diagnosing, and rehabilitating individuals with communication disorders, including speech, language, and hearing difficulties.

    Services offered

    1 Assessment and Diagnosis- Identify and Diagnosis communication and hearing disorders.

    2 Identify and address delays-Detect speech language and hearing issues early.

    3 Develop Communication Skills-Support development of speech language and communication abilities.

    4 Speech Development -Address articulation, fluency and voice Issues.

    5 Language Development-Support vocabulary, grammar and conversation skills.

    6 Hearing assessment – Identify and manage hearing loss.

    7 Newborn Hearing Screening-Identifying hearing loss in newborns and infants early, enabling timely intervention to support optimal speech, language, and developmental outcomes.

    8 Hearing aid fitting- Ensuring optimal sound amplification for individuals with hearing loss.

    9 Cochlear implant Rehabilitation- Specialized training to support individuals with cochlear implants in adapting to the device and improving auditory abilities.
