Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Guwahati jointly conducted a two-day State Level Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programme on “Orientation Programme on Disability Certification”. It was held on 19th & 20th November, 2024 in joint collaboration with Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan), Mumbai Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The program aimed to introduce the new assessment guidelines for certification of benchmark disabilities laid down by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India in the Gazette of India on March, 2024.

The 5th Batch of the training programme on revised disability assessment guidelines was successfully organised at the GMC Auditorium, Ground Floor, Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, Guwahati, Assam, from 13th to 14th November 2024. The event was conducted by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Government of India, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The programme aimed to train medical professionals from Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura in implementing the revised disability assessment guidelines notified on 12th March 2024, which emphasized a holistic approach to disability assessment.

Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation, and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC SRE) – Guwahati
(Under administrative control of SVNIRTAR , Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India) organized One day awareness program on “Early Identification & Intervention of Childhood Disabilities, Govt. Schemes for PwDs and RPWD Act, 2016” on 27.12.2024 at S.S College, Hailakandi District, Assam.
Total 140 Anganwadi & ASHA workers attended this awareness program.

Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation, and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC) – Guwahati ( Under administrative control of SVNIRTAR , Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India) organized One day training programme on “Home based task specific exercises for childrens with disability “on 26/12/2024 at Howly, District- Barpeta, State- Assam by CRCSRE, Guwahati,Assam. Total 111 participants including parents of PwDs, Anganwadi workers, Resource persons of Samagra Shiksha attended the program.The program was successfully conducted in the presence of CDPO, Smt. Monima Mazumdar, Howly, BEEO Incharge, Smt. Niyati Pathak, Head teacher Sri Deepjyoti Das.

Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation, and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC) – Guwahati ( Under administrative control of SVNIRTAR , Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India) organized a parental awareness and hands on training programme on cognition and perception of children with special needs CDEIC, CRCSRE, Guwahati on 24.12.2024 . The programme was inaugurated by Dr. P. K. Lenka, Director , CRCSRE, Guwahati . At the end of programme pre christmas celebration was celebrated by organizing a cultural programme with CWSN and their parents. Venue – CRCSRE- Guwahati, Auditorium. A total Numbers of 97 Participants attended the programme.

The theme of the 2024 International Day of Persons with Disabilities was:
“Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future”.
